Thank you for subscribing to this newsletter. It is all about Bob Dylan and this is the first post of hopefully many more to come. We will cover a wide bunch of Dylan-related stuff like tour news, articles, tour reviews, album reviews, fan-interviews and even a podcast. With 10 days left until the summer tour starts, today’s focus will be Bob’s touring-plans for the rest of the year of which we will gather and check some rumors.

US Summer tour 2024:

Rumors concerning the upcoming summer tour are ongoing for a quite some time now. Below we want to give our estimation on how likely the different rumors are:

• Jerry Pentecost is out of the band (for at least the summer tour) —> He posted on Instagram that he will be doing a Nashville Tribute show on June 26, which would be the day of Bob’s show in Virginia Beach. 95% true!

• A single anonymous source from the US mentioned that Jim Keltner will be replacing Jerry Pentecost and return to the drummers seat! 25% true!

• Donnie Herron is out of the band! Now this would be a real thing! After more than 19 years with Dylan this would mean that Bob would need to replace his longtime road-buddy if he’d like to keep the steel guitar sound in! Given that the sources come from different people: 95% true!

• One source pointed out that the whole band-setup will be mixed-up for the summer tour, which would exclude Tony Garnier also, which is hard to imagine. So in our eyes: 35% true!

• Bob was “asked to play” a set containing mostly “Greatest Hits” during the summer tour. Now this rumor goes way back to March, and we all know what Bob thinks about these ideas, so even his set is cut short in the summer to 1:15 hours he might, if even, include a Highway 61 Revisited or Spirit On The Water, at best. 10% true!

• Doug Lancio is out of the band, too! This would fit into the total band exchange theory. The source comes from someone who commented under one of our reels at the The Daily Dylan Instagram page. 65% true!

Fall tour 2024:

Various sources have pointed out that Bob will be touring Europe in the fall of 2024. Although it’s thinkable that Bob re-gathers his band from the Rough And Rowdy Ways tour, we have no hints or information about the band at this point.

Most likely he also covers parts of Europe that he has not toured during the previous Euro tours, like Poland, Czech Republic, Austria and Southern Germany. As far as we know, the tour is ending in the UK, which would not be a surprise.
