Top 5 Bob Dylan Moments of 2024!

There was SO MUCH happening in 2024 in the Bob Dylan world! The closer we get to the end of the year, the greater the euphoria (among many fans, though not all) for the new Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown” (what a title!), and since Christmas, American fans have been the first to see the movie.

But even away from the hustle and bustle of the movie, there were some outstanding Bob Dylan moments that we will certainly be talking about for many years to come.

Here are our top 5 Bob Dylan moments of 2024:

5. Bob Dylan at the Moody Theatre in Austin, TX!

The shows circulated as rumors for quite a while (alongside a Dallas show which did not happen in the end) and were only officially announced about 2 months beforehand!

The 2nd of the two concerts, which closed the spring tour and featured Jimmy Vaughan, the only guest musician on the entire Rough And Rowdy Ways Tour, even made it into the Top 10 of Ray Padgett's “Flaggin' Down The Double E's” “Must-Hear Bob Dylan Tapes of 2024”!

Altough I have not been there in person, this is my favorite bootleg to listen to. The sound of the tape is great and the performance out of this world.

(There were also rumors that the two shows were not only professionally audio-recorded, but that even cameras were installed to film the whole thing professionally.)

4. Bob Dylan tweets!

Bob Dylan's Twitter account was previously used for the usual marketing purposes. Since 26.09.2024 this has changed. It seems (and has probably been confirmed) that Bob himself uses the account from time to time to send tweets out into the world. The first one was in September this year:

He then talked about people he met in an elevator in Prague, gave restaurant and film recommendations, almost got lost at the Frankfurt Book Fair, reported on a Nick Cave concert in Paris and joined in the excitement of his own biopic.

One thing is certain: it never gets boring.
