Outlaw Tour - The Last 3
As the Outlaw Music Festival nears its conclusion, Bob is down to his final three performances on this year’s Summer Tour. The first of these takes place today, September 14, at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. After a four-day break, Bob returns to the stage on September 18 in Noblesville, Indiana, followed by the closing show on September 19 in East Troy, Wisconsin. These dates mark the end of Bob’s appearances on the Outlaw Tour before he heads to Europe (less than a month after his final Outlaw Tour show) for his fall leg, bringing back the “Rough and Rowdy Ways” tour.
Daily Dylan Outlaw Tour Review
Our Social Media Manager Michael flew over for the 2 shows in Hartford and Mansfield, and besides his amazing social media field reports from there he also wrote an amazing review about his time there which we will publish in the coming week.
Here’s a teaser:
“I went to the Outlaw Shows in the U.S. with mixed feelings: excited to see Bob and the band and travel with friends, but wary of a less focused audience than at recent R&RW shows.
In Hartford, some people in my section showed little interest in Bob and even talked throughout the set, while in Mansfield the crowd was enthusiastic and very engaged.
The music was excellent throughout: a powerful “Masters of War,” an lively “I Can Tell,” the atmospheric “Under the Red Sky,” a fresh take on “’Till I Fell in Love with You,” and a driving “Desolation Row.” Classics like “All Along the Watchtower” and “Highway 61” thrilled the audience as well.
The only drawback was Bob’s appearance — hooded and hidden behind the piano, which left some puzzled. Personally, I’d have preferred a clearer view of him and his interaction with the band.
Still, it was worth setting aside my doubts to experience these shows.”
Bootleg Series Vol 18 - New Details revealed
Last week, further details regarding the new Bootleg Series surfaced:
I personally am very excited for this one, I am especially hoping for yet uncirculated material from the coffee house days!
What are your thoughts on the upcoming Bootleg Series?
Bob Back on Instagram
With 3 fresh cryptic posts with no captions last week, Bob made his return to posting on Instagram about C. W. Stoneking, a Hitchcock movie scene and the song “Southern Cross” from CSN:
What’s your take on it?
Stu and Michelle Kimball Need Our Loving Help
Stu Kimball, Dylan’s longtime guitarist, was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease some time ago. Now, 6+ years post diagnosis, it has become apparent that Stu requires care only a live-in, Memory Care Center can provide. Medical bills have stacked up, and Memory Care centers aren’t cheap. Who is able to help might support the family:
What You Might Have Missed
Last week, we’ve published a newsletter with stoic views and theories about why Bob Dylan is “hiding” on stage.
“The criticism is real. Tickets are expensive, often costing hundreds of dollars. For many, this may be the only Bob show they will ever attend. Understandably, some leave disappointed, feeling they were denied not only visibility but a sense of intimacy with the artist they came to see.
From a Stoic perspective, this tension itself becomes part of the lesson. We cannot control Bob’s choices, only our response to them. Do we allow frustration to cloud the experience, or do we focus on what is within reach, the music itself?”

Ray Pagett’s New Series
On his great newsletter “Flagging Down The Double E’s” Ray Padgett has started a new series about the 2000 European Summer Tour. Ray even calls 2000 “the year I’m most jealous I didn’t see.”

Thanks all for supporting us!
Daniel
When I want to hear and experience the wonderful clever and creative music produced by Mr. Dylan and his band, I can stay home and experience the wonderful sound surround of my Bang & Olufsen sound system. So wonderful I can hear the smile in Dylan’s voice. Why do I want to experience the same music in a crowded, raucous arena?
To behold the magical, creative process.
To see the master spin his magic of story and song.
To capture a shared moment to be recalled at will.
Looking forward to Michael’s complete review. Would love to have been groovin’ with the Mansfield crowd! I would have worn a hoodie … you know; in solidarity 🫶
