Newly Surfaced 1999 Concert Footage
This week, a rare treasure for Bob Dylan fans surfaced: a full video of Bob Dylan’s show at Bogart’s in Cincinnati on July 11, 1999. The intimate venue (capacity under 1,500) made it a special night on the Never-Ending Tour. The setlist included classics like Desolation Row, Tangled Up in Blue, Like A Rolling Stone, and a closing Blowin’ in the Wind.

What Really Happened at White Lake Studios?
As reported last week, Bob Dylan and his band spent two days at White Lake Studios in Colonie, NY. While speculation immediately turned to possible recording sessions, Ray Padgett (author of Pledging My Time and host of the excellent newsletter Flagging Down the Double E’s) shared an update:
“The studio clarified that nowhere in the press release does it state Dylan actually recorded. Such visits could just as well involve rehearsals, reviewing recordings, or even interviews.”
Still—given Dylan’s history of surprise projects—we wouldn’t rule out the possibility that at least some new material was explored. With Bob, mystery is always part of the game.
That’s the Dylan week in review!
See you next time!
Daniel
