Insta-Milestone for The Daily Dylan!
First of all, we want to say a big thank you to everyone who also supports our project on Instagram. Today, exactly 3 months after creating the account and starting the whole Daily Dylan project, we crossed the 10,000 follower mark! This surely leaves us speechless!
New Steel Guitar Player REVEALED!
Donnie Herron leaving the band after 19 years shocked not only Bob I’m sure, but also the whole community. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that Bob seems to work on a replacement, especially for the last leg of the Rough And Rowdy Ways tour.
We have the following info on good authority and multiple sources pointing towards this. But we believe that the band’s newest addition will join for the fall tour and not earlier for the last leg of the summer tour! All things can still change, but this is what we know so far:
GREG LEISZ is going to be the new steel guitar player in Bob’s band!
Please note: At this point in time, we will not reveal any sources. So if you like, take this as a rumor rather than a fact.
According to Wikipedia, Greg was born on September 18 1949 and plays guitar, dobro, mandolin, banjo, lap steel and pedal steel guitar.
Leisz played mandolin on the mid-2021 Bob Dylan recordings of "Blowin' in the Wind," "Masters of War," "The Times They Are A-Changin' (song)," "Simple Twist of Fate," "Gotta Serve Somebody," and "Not Dark Yet" produced by T-Bone Burnett and recorded and mixed by Michael Piersante for a one-time sale as Ionic Originals.
Greg played also on Bob’s “Shadow Kingdom” and Jakob Dylan’s 2010 album “Woman + Country”. Furthermore he played with Joe Cocker, Ryan Adams, Beck, Eric Clapton, David Crosby and many more!
Again, we want to point out that things can still change, but for now this is what the sources are pointing towards. And we think it makes a lot of sense that Bob tries to add a steel guitar player for the fall tour and the (probably) last waltz of the Rough And Rowdy Ways tour!
More on that during the next days!
