Same Set, New Intermission And a Fresh Drummer! | Bootleg! | First Review!
HE’S BACK!
(Photo from the Tulsa show last night! - By Duncan Hume)
It’s always a great feeling to know that Bob Dylan really hit’s the stage finally, for yet another tour, starting off a fresh new year of touring!
That’s what has happened last night in Tulsa, a concert which caused panic for many-a-fan a couple months prior, due to circulating rumors saying that this will be the last Bob Dylan show EVER. This was not the case, however, and Bob blew us away with releasing tour dates for a whole Spring Tour as well as another extended Summer Tour with his buddy, Willie Nelson!
These days always remind me of something that my fellow Bobcat Matthew Ingate wrote about in his book “Together Through Life”, which is my favorite passage and I love to quote this:
This same Matthew Ingate was also there in attendance last night, and wrote a short impression after the show to us, which you can find further down below!
We also have a podcast coming up with Matthew, so if there is anything you would like to know about him, feel free to send in questions! (I can highly recommend reading his book!)
Here is the setlist as posted by our dear Bob-friend Bill Pagel on boblinks.com:
So, no changes in the setlist, but a newly implemented 15 minutes break / intermission (“Thank you. We’re gonna take like a ten minute break here. We’ll be right back.”) as well as a full band introduction!
You can ALREADY find the bootleg on expectingrain.com! Thanks to user dankrass!
Review by Matthew Ingate:
“Sometimes Bob and his Band can take a few shows to warm up at the start of a new year and a new tour, but this time around they are coming in hot. From start to finish, this show was electrifying. Dylan was a man on a mission at the piano, playing some overwhelmingly great and inspired rhythms and solos. His voice was just as impressive, as were the new guitar parts from both Bob Britt and Doug Lancio, the bass work from the ever present Tony Garnier and new drummer, Anton Fig. In fact, Fig maybe even stole the show. Mixing it up with sticks, brushes, mallets and adding so much intricate texture, he drew on the best elements of all the other Rough and Rowdy drummers. Finally, on such a powerful, exciting and awe-inspiring night, it wasn't just the band who were playing their part, but one of the best and most interactive, engaged and appreciative crowds I've ever heard, too. This show was a conversation between Bob, his band and the Tulsa crowd. I never wanted it to end!”
Thank you Matthew!

Anton Fig - The “Thunder From Down Under!”
Anton Fig (born 8 August 1952 in South Africa) is the new drummer in Bob Dylan’s band, replacing Bob’s buddy Jim Keltner! Shortly before the show, more and more rumors surfaced that a change in the band will happen, and only hours before the show we were pretty sure that it will be, again, the drummer’s seat!
Anton Fig, played on Bob Dylan’s 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration (“Bobfest”), was part of David Letterman’s house band for almost 30 years and also played the drums on Bob Dylan’s 1985 “Clean Cut Kid”!
Check out more about Anton Fig over here:
New 2022 London Footage!
To end this newsletter, I want to shortly shift your attention to a new Woolhall-gem! It’s footage about London 2022, where I was lucky enough to attend in person, and all 4 shows were among the best of the Rough And Rowdy Way’s show’s I’ve seen so far!
Stay Tuned!
We will stay close as usual to the tour as it progresses! We will serve you all changes and info as soon as humanly possible! Even faster you will receive hot tour news only from Bob himself or through our Instagram channel! :)
Bob Dylan, you are the best just as is!
