“Covid. It also happened that Bob Dylan’s tour got canceled. And apparently Bob kind of called this manager and said, you know, let me read this thing that’s got you guys all nervous,” Mangold continued. From there, he arranged to meet up with Dylan in what he described as “a totally locked down Los Angeles,” at “a lockdown coffee shop.”
“After kind of some very surprising, wonderful, charming, just kind of pleasantries he kind of goes, ‘So what is this movie about?” And what was most interesting to me is,” Mangold said, “it’s obviously kind of ironic that someone who’s kind of, the movie’s about their life, is asking what the movie’s about, but it also makes complete sense, like he’s an artist, and he knows you could make any number of six dozen movies about anyone’s life and and what he really want to know is, what are you doing? What are you after? What’s your agenda? Or what are you seeing?”
From James Mangold Details His ‘Surprising’ Talk With Bob Dylan About ‘A Complete Unknown’
Welcome to December. The month of spring tour dates (maybe and most likely). The month of “A Complete Unknown” (for some, at least). I still can’t believe that I have to wait until the end of February until the movie airs in Germany. Annoying.
From what I’ve seen on all the trailers so far, I am really excited about it and I really hope, that this movie can deliver the timeless music and lyrics onto a whole new generation and people that haven’t been into Bob Dylan at all up until now.

Must Be Santa
Let’s not forget about the Christmas-aspect of December. I always love to get into the Christmas-mood with “Christmas in The Heart” of course, but I even more enjoy checking into the “special yuletide extravaganza” Christmas (and New Years) edition of the Theme Time Radio Hour!
So get yourself some eggnog, put up some mistletoe and leave the driving to Bob and Rudolph!
I lost my faith in Santa around the same time I lost my faith in Dylan. But like many other things, the renaissance of the late 1990s brought it back, and bootlegs that were previously hidden got a release. Thanks Mika from Finland.
Too much of PR-hype too far ahead ….. may jade the freshness of Timothée Chalamet’s personification of an all-too overworked workaholic Bob Dylan at any time of his evolution.
I liked Timothée very much as Willy Wonka, hope I’ll like him as much as A Complete Unknown.
